Student Esthetician Clinic to host Grand Opening at IBMC College in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, CO – The Colorado Springs campus of IBMC College would like to invite the community to attend the Grand Opening of the Student Esthetician Clinic, located on campus at 6805 Corporate Drive.

The event will be held on December 17^th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the student pad. Esthetician students will be providing guests with free Mini Hand Treatments on site. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the new facility and learn about all of the skin care services the clinic will be providing to the public.

Guests, attending the event, will also be entered into a raffle drawing for the chance to win a free Facial and Brow Waxing, or a fun IBMC giveaway!

Student in the Esthetician program learn the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to perform facials and skin care, makeup applications, and hair removal services. Training includes both classroom and hands-on experience, provided through practice on models and guests in the Student Beauty Services Clinic.

Former sales associate to join the Cheyenne campus’ team as new representative

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Hannah Hovar as the new Admissions Representative at its Cheyenne campus, 1854 Dell Range Blvd.

Hovar, who has a background in management and sales, will be in charge of meeting with prospective students and parents on campus, giving tours, and aiding other members of IBMC’s Admissions Department. She will be joining current Admissions Representative Michael Davis, who was brought onto the team in August of this year.

“I am excited to have Hannah join the Admissions team in Cheyenne and believe that her customer service experience and communication skills will contribute to her success,” stated Jimmy Henig, Regional Director of Admissions, in an email announcing her employment.

The programs at IBMC College allow students of all demographics to combine hands-on training in the classroom and real-world experience during a mandatory externship. IBMC gives technical training and practical skills to its students, preparing them for success in today’s competitive job market.

Before joining IBMC, Hovar was employed as a sales associate for Forma Furniture and was a community manager for Associa Colorado, where she was promoted to handle finances and budgets, along with other responsibilities, for 11 homeowners’ associations.

Hovar earned a bachelor’s degree in management in 2013 from Regis University. She completed a Pathways Leadership Program at Front Range Community College, where she and her fellow classmates learned to be “servant leaders in the community.”

Hovar also has gained experience through her volunteer work, where she was the vice president and volunteer coordinator of the Business Administration Association at Illinois State University, as well volunteering for the Downtown Business Association for the city of Fort Collins.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Six student stylists will be on-hand Thursday at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center to give the veteran residents there free haircuts.

IBMC College cosmetology students from the Cheyenne campus, 1854 Dell Range Blvd., will begin giving the haircuts at 2 p.m. January 14, at the medical center, 2360 E. Pershing Blvd.

“Being a military community our students take great pride in giving back to the veterans here in Cheyenne,” Karen Brownyard, lead Cosmetology instructor at the Cheyenne campus, said. “It is a great resume builder for our students. They are always super excited when they see VA Cuts on their books!”

This event corresponds with the philosophy at IBMC, where Caring Individuals … Changing Lives is shown throughout the campus. Cheyenne cosmetology students also gave free haircuts in celebration of Veterans’ Day.

“We are happy to have the chance to offer these men a complimentary haircut,” Archie Randall, IBMC Cheyenne campus president, said of the event in November. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Cheyenne Veterans Hospital in the near future, and helping more individuals who have served.”

Former analyst’s ‘love of teaching’ encouraged her to become a Medical Billing & Coding instructor

Longmont, Co. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Kristy Mettler its new medical billing & coding instructor at its Longmont campus, 2315 N. Main St.

Mettler has spent the last 15 years in the field – bringing her real-world experience and countless hours of knowledge into the classroom.

When asked what inspired her to become an instructor at IBMC, Mettler responded with her “love of teaching and helping people learn new techniques.”

Before joining IBMC, Mettler worked as a quality manager at Flatirons Practice Management in Boulder, where she audited data entry work, along with coordinating and supervising the intern program. She also gained billing experience when she worked as an accounts receivable clerk at the same company. She interfaced with insurance companies, multiples clinics and clients to ensure claims were properly processed.

Mettler earned a bachelor’s degree in in liberal studies at the University of California – Riverside, where she later received her master’s degree in economics.

Her experience will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.

Alumna, licensed massage therapist hired as newest faculty member at Fort Collins campus

FORT COLLINS, Co. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Tonya Batman its new therapeutic massage instructor at its Fort Collins campus, 3842 S. Mason St.

Batman, a licensed massage therapist and a 2009 graduate of IBMC, brings seven years of experience into her new teaching career, with special knowledge in injury rehabilitation, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy.

“The moment I graduated from IBMC, I knew I wanted to teach,” Batman said. “I am so passionate about massage therapy … I am excited to help others achieve their dreams.”

In addition to her new faculty position, Batman is employed as a massage therapist at Althoff Family Chiropractic in Windsor, where she works with clients to help relieve pain, gives relaxing relief and performs neuromuscular and rehabilitation therapy.

Batman also brings experience from her years at the Rocky Mountain Spine & Disc clinic, where she gained clerical skills, as well as gained experience in massage therapy early in her career.

Shortly after graduating from IBMC with an associate’s degree in Therapeutic Massage, Batman became involved with Relay for Life, where she volunteered in the 2010 event.

Weld County residents can apply for $3000 in grant money to attend IBMC College

Weld County hopes Bright Futures Grant gives students an incentive to pursue post-secondary education

GREELEY, Co. – Weld County high school students graduating in 2016 and beyond can now apply for $3,000 in grant money each year to attend any post-secondary institution, including IBMC College.

The Board of Weld County Commissioners set aside $15 million to launch its Bright Futures Grant Program last fall in hopes of giving an incentive to the county’s residents to attend the college of their choice. The grant also qualifies honorably discharged veterans who graduated from a Weld County high school in 2006 or later and who currently reside within the county.

“I believe the Bright Futures Grant Program, available to Weld County residents, will aid in making the dream of attending a post-secondary school, such as IBMC College, more attainable,” Kyle Yates, IBMC College’s high school admissions representative, said.

High school students can apply the grant money toward any career-training program at IBMC College, including all degree, diploma and certificate career paths, starting in fall 2016, when the funds will be distributed. For up to four years, the student can receive $3,000 each year they attend a post-secondary institution full-time.

“We are so excited that many Weld County high school graduates will be encouraged to seek career training through the Bright Futures Grant,” IBMC College’s CEO Steve Steele said. “This investment in students and their futures will pay great dividends for the community.”

To qualify for the grant, high school students or GED recipients must be a resident of Weld County and will be graduating in 2016. Students can apply for the grant either through their high school guidance counselor or through the grant’s website, www.weldcountybrightfutures.com. The application will be available later this month. While attending the college of their choice, recipients of the grant must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester and maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

“The Bright Futures Grant program is a wonderful benefit to Weld County residents,” IBMC College Greeley Campus President Eric Thompson said. “The flexibility offered by this program is very attractive, and I am excited to see Weld County support its residents in this manner.”

Honorably discharged Marine continues education while pursuing teaching career

Colorado Springs, Co. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Jacob Koziol, its new personal training instructor at its Colorado Springs campus, 6805 Corporate Drive, Suite 100.

Koziol, a graduate of the personal training program at IBMC College, will continue his education in the therapeutic massage program while teaching in his new adjunct position.

He also brings experience from his current job as a personal fitness trainer at Phil Long Automotive Dealerships, where he conducts individual and group specialized workout programs, as well informing the dealerships’ employees about health and wellness.

Koziol will bring a unique experience into the classroom. During his years in the United States Marine Corps, he was able to teach thousands of servicemen and women about strength and conditioning, cardiovascular and circuit training, as well as mixed martial arts.

His combined experience will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Tony Aparicio its new business and general education

Aparicio, a former instructor at IBMC from 2008-2011, returns to the classroom, bringing new education and experience with him.

When asked how he will motivate his future students, Aparicio replied, “My part is ensuring that they have the tools to succeed and make their learning applicable to real life.”

Aparicio brings experience from his years in the military, where he led 33 people as superintendent and worked fluidly with senior executives and military officials. He is an accomplished public speaker, as well as being proficient in the Microsoft Office suite — two useful skills that will be beneficial to his future students.

Aparicio earned his doctorate in Organizational Psychology from Walden University, where he is currently at the dissertation stage. He also holds a Master of Science degree in International Management from Troy University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland, University College.

During his time in the military, he successfully completed two associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Contracts Management and Aircrew Operations.

Her experience will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.

FORT COLLINS, Co. – IBMC College, a locally owned career-training institution, has named Debbie Kaltenberger, as the new part-time accounts

Kaltenberger, who has a background in accounting and customer service, will assist IBMC College’s accounting department with invoices, analyzing and verifying finances and many other financial aspects.

Before joining IBMC, Kaltenberger was employed as a customer support specialist at the Consumer Education Outreach in Windsor. She gained accounting experience through her work at Accountemps & Action Staffing Solutions, as well as being a payroll administrator at Tanco Engineering in Loveland for many years.

Kaltenberger earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fort Lewis College in Durango.

Her experience will be beneficial to the students and staff at IBMC College.

Student stylists giving back and gaining experience through Cheyenne community event

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Student stylists will be on-hand Thursday at IBMC College’s Cheyenne Campus to give the veteran residents of the Cheyenne VA Medical Center free haircuts.

IBMC College cosmetology students from the Cheyenne campus, 1854 Dell Range Blvd., will be giving the haircuts on Thursday, February 4, at the campus. The College blocks out times throughout the day in order to give the veterans a free haircut by one of the students enrolled in the cosmetology program.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Student stylists will be on-hand Saturday at the Cheyenne Civic Center offering free services to give Stars of Tomorrow’s performers a leg up on the competition.

IBMC College cosmetology students from the Cheyenne campus, 1854 Dell Range Blvd., will give free hair and makeup services to all finalists of the Kiwanis Club’s Stars of Tomorrow competition on Saturday.

“This event is a great experience for our students. Plus, it provides a great service for (the Stars of Tomorrow) event,” Archie Randall, IBMC Cheyenne campus president, said.

This event corresponds with the philosophy at IBMC, where Caring Individuals … Changing Lives is shown throughout the campus. Cheyenne cosmetology students also give free haircuts to resident veterans of the Cheyenne VA Medical Center once a month.

Pat Schlotter joins the staff at IBMC, where she brings over 30 years of experience in the education realm

IBMC College in Fort Collins has hired Pat Schlotter to the position of Campus President, where she will lead staff members and continue to ensure students receive life-changing career training in a successful environment.

In her new position, she will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations at the campus, located at 3842 S. Mason St., and acting as a leader to the staff and faculty. She is charged with the mission of ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory guidelines, delivering sound financial guidance and providing support to each college department, among a host of other duties.

In the last 30 years, Schlotter has worked for Corinthian Colleges, Inc., as a campus president, a program manager and as the regional vice president, among other leadership positions. She started her education career as a director of admissions at Phillips Colleges, Inc., where she was responsible for “budgeting, developing and managing the sales division to achieve corporate objectives.”

She holds a Masters of Art degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix in Aurora and a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Guidance from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, which has since rebranded to Colorado Mesa University.

Kennebeck comes from a background in customer service and the medical field, earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences from Utah State University in 2014. She gained experience from her jobs as a faculty support specialist at the Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in California, a physical therapy aide at GetWELL Physical Therapy and most recently, as an office assistant at Dream Horse Classifieds.

Caviness has previous experience in education, working as a substitute teacher for Widefield School District 3 in Security, Colo. She also has experience in customer service from working as a restaurant hostess at the Broadmoor Hotel. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2014.

Kennebeck and Caviness will be in charge of giving students the support they need through recognizing their accomplishments and assisting them with any roadblocks students may face on their way to graduation. The Student Services team provides students with the information and resources they need to make their experience at IBMC College as rewarding as possible.

Both will be valuable members of the team and to the IBMC College staff as a whole.
